Flutter & iOS Engineer

Ivan
Chernoknizhnikov

Flutter · iOS · a little Node.js — Valencia, Spain

I design, build and ship my own apps to the App Store — five live so far — and open-source the pieces worth sharing. Lately I've been going deep on rendering and animation, which is how svg_animate happened.

Pure SMIL — the same thing svg_animate plays in Flutter

Things I built and shipped

iOS · Productivity

Pull to Refresh

2026

An app blocker you unlock with reps. Pick the apps that eat your day, set a daily allowance, and buy more screen time with push-ups, squats or pull-ups.

  • Counts reps from joint positions on device — no video is recorded, stored or uploaded
  • Strict mode, per-hour limits and scheduled rules; writes to Health and closes the Move ring
  • Swift
  • SwiftUI
  • Screen Time API
  • Vision
  • HealthKit

iOS · Reference

Foilcase

2026

Scans trading cards, prices them daily and tracks what a collection is worth. It reads the artwork and the collector number together, so it knows which printing you actually own.

  • Daily prices from public marketplace data — every figure shows its source and date, and says so when it is stale
  • No account and no server copy: the collection is an append-only ledger on the device
  • Swift
  • SwiftUI
  • Vision
  • On-device ledger

iOS · Food & Drink

MealMate

2025

AI calorie counter and food log. Point the camera at a plate and it estimates calories and macros — no barcode hunting, no 40-field entry form.

  • Photo-based food recognition with manual entry as the fallback
  • Personalised daily targets, macro breakdown and weight tracking
  • Swift
  • SwiftUI
  • StoreKit 2
  • AI vision

Flutter · Medical

PawVault

2026

A health record for your pet. Vaccinations, vet visits, medications and documents in one place, with reminders before anything expires.

  • Scans certificates and prescriptions into structured entries
  • Vet-summary PDF export, iCloud sync across iPhone, iPad, Mac and Vision Pro
  • Flutter
  • Dart
  • SQLite
  • Cloud sync
  • PDF export

Flutter · Medical

Reset

2026

A sobriety tracker for quitting cannabis or taking a tolerance break — clean streak, withdrawal timeline, milestones and money saved.

  • Cannabis-specific withdrawal timeline for sleep, mood and appetite
  • Fully on-device: the app collects no data at all
  • Flutter
  • Dart
  • Local notifications
  • Offline-first

Side project · Node.js service

torrentio-addon

2025

A Stremio addon that answers stream requests from a scraped torrent database, with debrid resolution in front of it. Built on TheBeastLT's torrentio-scraper and rewritten around my own data layer.

  • PostgreSQL for the torrent index, MongoDB for stream caching with a configurable TTL
  • Falls back to an external scraper on a miss, then retries — and runs standalone without one
  • RealDebrid, Premiumize, AllDebrid and Put.io resolution
  • Ships as Docker Compose behind Traefik with automatic SSL
  • Node.js 20
  • Express
  • PostgreSQL
  • MongoDB
  • Docker
  • Traefik

About

Valencia, Spain

I care about the frames nobody counts

I'm a mobile engineer working mostly in Flutter and on iOS. Most of my time goes into the parts users never name but always feel — the transition that doesn't stutter, the list that doesn't jank, the tap that answers instantly.

I also ship my own apps end to end: design, code, App Store listing, subscriptions, support. All five are mine, from the first sketch to the review replies.

svg_animate came out of the same habit. I wanted animated SVGs in a Flutter app, found the ecosystem quietly dropped the animation on the floor, and wrote the renderer that doesn't.

  • 5Apps live on the App Store
  • 2Open-source projects
  • 7+Years shipping mobile
  • 160Pub points on svg_animate
